If you want to understand the real cost of aerospace technology, this academy is for you. It is a free, self-paced course series on what rare earth extraction costs in land, water, communities, and climate. Every satellite, rocket, and piece of aerospace technology starts as raw material taken from the Earth. We believe the people building the future of space should understand what that costs.
The curriculum is openly licensed. Any university, school, or employer can teach it without asking us for permission.
The UN Secretary-General’s Panel on Critical Energy Transition Minerals records that mining “has too often been linked with human rights abuses, environmental degradation and conflict”, and that Indigenous Peoples’ lands and resources have been dispossessed. Every satellite runs on that supply chain.
We teach the sourcing, the review documents, and the questions an engineer can ask before a contract is signed. We do not teach displacement statistics we cannot source. You can find the quoted record on the Accountability Index, along with its primary document.
