Accessibility Statement
Equity in aerospace includes equity of access. This statement says where we conform, where we do not yet, and what we are doing about the gap.
Version 1.0 — July 2026
Our commitment
EOSYN Space is committed to making our website and programmes accessible to everyone, including women and girls with disabilities. We believe that equity in aerospace includes equity of access to information, resources, and opportunity. Our website is built to WCAG 2.2 Level AA standards, and we treat accessibility as an ongoing practice, not a one-time achievement.
Compliance level
This website is designed to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA and the EN 301 549 v3.2.1 harmonised standard.
Conformance status
Partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. "Partially conformant" means most of the site meets the standard, but some parts do not. We will not claim full conformance until an independent pre-launch audit confirms it, and we will publish the result either way — including if it is unflattering.
Where we do not yet meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA, those areas are listed below rather than quietly omitted.
Audit history
A full internal audit against WCAG 2.2 Level AA was completed in July 2026 across all public pages, at 1280px and 360px widths, using axe-core 4.12 plus manual keyboard and screen reader testing. Every critical and serious finding from that audit has been fixed: seventeen colour-contrast failures (small text set in muted indigo, slate-blue links and buttons, gold text on light surfaces, and the crimson submit button), a mis-nested description list on the homepage chart, two skipped heading levels, duplicated main landmarks on four pages, and checkbox targets below the 24 by 24 pixel minimum. The site now reports zero critical or serious automated violations on every public page.
A full list of what was found and what changed is published in our transparency report.
Known limitations
Despite our best efforts, some users may experience difficulties. Known limitations:
- Accountability Index dashboard (Phase II): the interactive dashboard may not be fully accessible to screen reader users at launch. We are working to resolve this, and a non-interactive data table of the same figures will be published alongside it.
- Donation widget: third-party donation content may have accessibility limitations outside our control. We report these to the provider. If any part of it fails for you, email us and we will take your donation by bank transfer with no extra steps and no loss of anonymity options.
- Older research PDFs published before 2024 are not fully tagged. We are reissuing them as HTML. If you need one sooner, ask and we will convert it within five working days.
- Independent verification pending: the July 2026 audit was carried out by our own team. Until an independent auditor confirms the result, we hold the status at partially conformant. Any findings they raise will be added here, dated, with a target remediation date beside each one.
If you find an accessibility barrier not listed here, please report it using the contact details below.
Contact us about accessibility
If you encounter an accessibility barrier, please contact us:
Email: accessibility@eosynspace.org
We will respond within 48 hours and work to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. You do not need to know the technical term for the problem — "the menu traps my keyboard" is a perfect bug report.
If our response is not good enough, you can escalate to the relevant national enforcement body under EN 301 549. We would rather fix it first, but that route is yours to use.
Technical specifications
This website is designed to conform to:
- WCAG 2.2 Level AA (W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines)
- EN 301 549 v3.2.1 (European accessibility standard for ICT products and services)
The European Accessibility Act (EAA) has been in force since 28 June 2025. In Belgium, micro-enterprises are not exempt. As EOSYN Space operates in Belgium and accepts donations online — which constitutes e-commerce under the EAA — this website is legally required to conform.
How we evaluate
Our website was evaluated using:
- Automated testing: axe DevTools on every page
- Keyboard testing: tab navigation through all pages and forms
- Screen reader testing: VoiceOver on macOS and iOS
- Colour contrast audit: WebAIM Contrast Checker on all colour pairs. Where a brand colour failed, we changed the colour rather than the standard.
- Annual external audit by a qualified accessibility auditor
Any findings from the annual audit are remediated within 90 days and published in our annual transparency report.
Approval and review
This accessibility statement was approved by the EOSYN Space Operations Lead.
- Approved: July 2026
- Next review: July 2027, or sooner if an audit or a report from you changes what is true here
